sweet girl studio is the name of our blog.
-because we are sweet girls-
we own Sweetwater Cotton Shoppe a quilt shoppe that specializes in cottage florals, civil war, 30′s reproduction with a little bit of northwoods and Kansas Troubles thrown in. We are located at 122 West James Street in Paynesville, MN, a smaller town that has a gallery, used bookstore, bakery, coffee and floral shop among other fun downtown places.
we design patterns under Sweet Porch Press and have published over 100 single patterns and 5 books. we had a booth at the Spring 2006 International Quilt Market in Minneapolis and our booth won Best New Exhibitor.
we had a quilt pattern, ”Cherry Limeade” published in Quilts & More/Summer 2007 issue. quilt pattern “All Things Spring” was the cover quilt for the month of April in the Better Homes and Gardens 2009 calender.
Sweetwater was featured in the Spring 2010 issue of Quilt Sampler naming us a Top Ten Shop for 2010. the issue went on sale in May of 2010!
We offer machine quilting, Thursday Afternoon Sit and Sew, unique kits and patterns.

Received Civil war fabric from daughter in Bogart, Georgia, and needless to say, I love it. Also, she was not sure I would received the package by Christmas, but it arrived on Christmas Eve Plan to put this fabric to use with other civil war fabric and make the quilt Notes To Home, a civil war pattern.
