strawberries, babies, and new york

Well, well…the sun has finally come out (though i am a fan of the rain we had a week or so ago…the sun is nice).  As many of you know, we had a project on Moda Bake Shop on Saturday, and boy did it turn out nice.  If you haven’t had a chance to see it, be sure to pop on over and check it out…we’d love to hear what you think.  We will have other projects on there in the future…as soon as we have a publish date…i will let you know!

We have gotten in some new fabrics, and they are so delicious!  Almost all of them have patterns available and kits ready to go…i’ll work on putting them on our etsy shop (to go to the shop click on the picture beneath “Quilt Shoppe”).  If you see something and can’t find it on etsy…drop me an email with the item you are looking for and i’ll post it for you.  Now on to the lovely, lovely things we got in store for you…

Strawberry Marmalade is absolutely delightful…reminds me of summer.  It uses a charm pack, jelly roll, and background.  We used Pom Pom de Paris by French General for moda for the blocks and scrappy binding and a Lily and Will background that matched perfectly!  It was as if it was meant to be.  We’ve got kits of this lovely lady.  She measures $88 and the pattern is $8.50.  We’ve also got fat 1/8th bundles for $60.  Then the bottom one is a close up of the blocks.  The pillowcases are kitted too–nice and simple with no piping strip or pieced end.  The perfect companion…i’m thinking Pretty-fied Sheets using the charm pack, floral, and stripe.

Mom also put together a Chocolate Owls version of Apple Butter.  We skipped the narrow border and just did a pink, chocolate, and white baby girl’s quilt.  A simple medallion set off with pinwheels in the border and a houndstooth pink and chocolate print.  Quilt finishes at 30 x 40 inches.  Pattern is $4 and the kit including binding is $20…we will be kitting it with the pink check the pinwheel and the pink and chocolate houndstooth print the border and binding.

Now for a little Civil War…this fantastic quilt…Flapjacks is so much fun.  We paired 5 prints that are somewhat duller then the bubblegum pink, chrome yellow, and poison green, with a shirting print that is a teal and black print on white.  Then bound it with the shirting print.  It measures 82 x 98 inches and the kit including background and binding is $104.50…kit for prints only (background separate) is $40…pattern is $8.50.

We’ve cut up a new Sweet Confection…Rose Cream is 9 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches and this pre-cut delight is only $14.95 complete with binding, backing, and pattern–plus it is all cut out all you have to do is sit down and sew…

This next one is called Basically Kaye–it is a pattern designed to go with Kaye England’s fabric line Basically Kaye Shirtings…we’ve tweaked it a bit (in color options only) and paired this pattern with Julie Hendrickson’s Miniatures and a couple blues, a gray, a purple, and a green for a little bit of pop.  We’ve got it kitted with binding (green) and the pattern for $67.50…it measures 48 x 60.  Mom is still working on the sample, but here are the kits and some of the fabrics.  I’ll post a picture when it has been completed…think simple stars and borders…or stop in and take a look.

Fun, fun, fun…is how anyone would describe these fabrics from Riley Blake Designs…Penny Lane fats and some yardage…mom is coming up with just the right quilt for these quirky prints.  The bundle of 22 fat quarters is $62 and the yardage is $10.50/yard.

We don’t have the pattern and kits done yet, but i have to share this soft and sweet quilt…New York Style Vanilla.  It is made using a Lily and Will background (which seem to go with EVERYTHING!) and Robyn Pandolph’s Somerset Cottage and an overstitched print white on white fabric…the bottom one is a close up of the quilt…the quilting, the fabric, the pattern…it just so perfect!

Then lastly…some more Lily & Will (I & II).  Some fluffy in coconut cream (they call it just cream, but i really like the coconut part and it reminds me of pie) has arrived and it so lucious!  It is 60 inches wide and $20.99/yard, but we will be making the whimsy favorite Vanilla Fudge out of it.  We have layer cakes of Lily and Will II in the yellow and brown colorway.

Thanks for stopping by…hope to see you in the shop soon!  With summer coming spring lines have arrived or continue to arrive and the Christmas (yes, Christmas, i know) will be arriving soon!

enjoy the sunshine!  april  {sweetwater}
