i made it to work today and after doing a few things that were left over from Thursday i finally have a chance to sit down and get you more pictures of the oh, so lovely Sweet Cream.
Sweet Cream uses a wonderful assortment of Cabbages and Roses’ Padstow Range and a lone print from Athill Range. the tonals are a little on the dark side but maybe it is just the saturation of color…either way, the end result is reminiscent of an English countryside complete with wisteria blooms (does wisteria even grow there? yes…it does–lucky them!), a thatched roof, and cracked and broken garden paths winding through the lush vines and bushes.
**Sweet Cream is named in honor of my absolute favorite coffee creamer…International Delight Cold Stone Creamery(TM) Sweet Cream. it is super yummy! it kind of tastes like ice cream, but oh so much better.
remember our old-timey style CD player that i was shabby-fy-ing? well, we used French Grey Behr paint then i sanded it down a little. i even painted the plastic knobs…it photographs well and works with our cottage look.
lastly…below i have a picture of some Sweet Cream zippered pouches. These little gems are perfect for sewing notions (they fit a 6 inch square ruler), cosmetics, bits and bobs, threads, or use as a small project bag for your hexie project, Brazilian embroidery, punch needle, wool applique project, block of the month, or fill with scraps to make a mini. ideas are endless! Right now we have 3 and they use a mixture of prints from the Sweet Cream project. Each one is unique and features a high quality metal zipper, cottage florals, and cross-hatch quilting.
i have Summer Basket almost ready for listing on the etsy shoppe…once she’s kitted and ready, i’ll be listing it and getting you some pictures. she is perfectly spring with soft pastel flowers on a painters’ cloth background. can’t wait…i posted a couple sneak peaks on instagram–if you have an account just look us up under @sweetgirlstudio.
mom is also working on a new springtime Sweet Confection…some small ditzy florals, white, and yoyo’s…still trying to come up with an appropriate “yummy” sounding name…
xoxo– april & mickey
