springtime in minnesota

it seems that spring has indeed arrived.  the tree in front of the shop had 4 robins in it yesterday when we left at 5…so that is a good sign.

the changing weather has also prompted us to pull out some of our favorite patterns and remake them out of some cottage-style fabrics.

The first project finished is our Springtime pillow.  we took our classic summertime pillow and changed it up.  the PDF pattern is available for instant download here.

we used some of our favorite floral prints by Quilting in the Rain, Brenda Riddle, Lella Boutique and Lecian…the embroidery is on Basic Grey’s Manilla Grunge.  Kits are available here and are shipping on Monday, April 3rd.

-on the way are a Cottage Chic Hot Cocoa and we’ve done up a Milk and Cookies using summery florals and a wool pansy-

I realize that the rich, elegant colors of French General do not really lend themselves to the springtime season, but I have to show you French Four.

It is a classic 4-patch made with classic French General fabrics.  we used charm packs for a truly scrappy blocks…then added in a sashing, border, and binding.

charm packs used are:  Pondicherry, Madame Rouge, Ville Fleurie, and Petite Prints Deux

Sashing is a 3 Sisters mirco triple dot

Border is Pondicherry

Binding is French General Favorites.
