I hope everyone had a chance to get outside and enjoy the sunshine because rain is on its way.
The rain does keep us out of the garden and gives us a valid excuse to sit down in front of the machine…or if you are like me you’d prefer to relax with a needle and do a little EPP.
Mom and I have put the shop back together and brainstormed a few new ideas for the upcoming quilt shows in May, June, and July. We’ve also been on a kick to reinvent some of our favorite patterns. We did a new Tea in the Garden (Milk and Cookies), Hot Cocoa, Springtime pillow, and Hexie Stones (Stepping Stones) which I realized I never took pictures of. As for previous favorite patterns…we are planning on bringing a back a few others…so stay tuned.
Hexie Stones…mixes hexie flowers with our Stepping Stones pattern…we used 3 Sisters lines, Poetry prints and Favorites and a Sweet Marion print for the Hexie block backgrounds…the combination is perfect. This project measures 71 x 80 inches. Kits are available and include the fabric for the front, binding, hexie papers, and pattern.

I have decided to start kitting up single Lucy blocks.
These blocks will be similar to blocks in my finished Lucy (POTC) but a lot of the fabrics I used were from my personal stash. However, we have some new fabrics on order that will make stunning blocks…I’m so excited!
Block kit details are as follows…
Each kit will include:
2-4 different prints that may require fussy cutting.
Fabric cut to coordinate with a 1 inch honeycomb template with a 3/8 inch seam allowance and a 1 inch square template with a 3/8 inch seam allowance…we have these available.
24–1 inch honeycomb papers.
4–1 inch square papers.
a pattern card with 1 color placement option.
as kits are made available i’ll post them here with links along with different color placement options.
fabric collection options…
I have decided to make another Lucy Boston POTC, I know I vowed I would not do this, but I just love the blocks made from florals.
So I have decided that I will do kits of both so be aware when ordering/purchasing that there will be 2 different collections available.
Civil War Lucy Boston POTC block collection
Summer Cottage Lucy Boston POTC block collection
(these names are really long so I’m sure they will be shortened as I get going on this)
I’m going to plan on posting a new block kit each week starting on Tuesday, June 6th (Lucy Tuesdays). I’m going to need a head start to get a few in the hopper beforehand.
I am going to get started now so they will be available as soon as they are packaged. I do not have a kit price as of yet, but will keep you informed.
