nearly a blue christmas

good morning!  mom and i hope you are staying cozy warm by the fire with a little stitching and maybe a cup of coffee or mug of hot cocoa.

i’m sure some of you have heard what happened to the Dad a little over a week ago (Friday, Nov 2nd).  Dad’s leg got caught up in a power take-off (PTO) and thankfully Tina was there to call 9-1-1 and save his life.  Melany met him at the hospital and signed all the papers to get him into surgery right away.  The leg could not be saved so the result was amputation above the knee.  He was discharged from the hopsital last wednesday and moved into the Rehab facility part of the hospital and is expected to be discharged on Nov. 14th.  he was even popping wheelies with the wheelchair…his outlook is fantastic…he’s absolutely tickled to be alive.  we have set up a gofundme page with updates so you can see how he’s doing and if you’d like to help out…feel free to donate or share or go shopping or send messages.  the support is just amazing and we are so incredibly thankful!

now that everyone is in the loop…i have a new bundle to show you.  if you don’t know me…i love putting together bundles, giving them names, tying them with pretty ribbon.

Blue Christmas…this is the newest bundle i’ve put together.  i really love Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley; it’s one of by all time favorite Christmas songs and this Christmas was nearly a Blue Christmas if circumstances had been just a little bit different.  So this bundle was curated in honor of the the family that can no longer be with us for the holidays (Grandpa Andrajack and Grandma Zimmer).  We will definitely be thinking of you this year…and thankful that Dad is still here to celebrate with us.

i’ve listed this bundle online here.  i’m hoping mom can get a quilt whipped up…i think it would be nice quilt to cozy up with this time of year.

i’ve decorated for christmas too!  this year i went for simple and classic.  Since we are so Thankful…i made that the inspiration for my decor this year.

i’d better get back to work!  just thought i’d check in and give everybody an update on what is going on over here at sweetwater…Mel is in charge of updating the gofundme page, so if you’d like to see what’s going on with him you can pop over there and find out how he’s doing.

One last thing–i’m going to be an Auntie!  Melany and Tyler are expecting a baby in June…this will be the first grandchild on both sides and the first great-grandchild on my dad’s side…so we are looking forward to June!

thanks again for your support!  it means the world to us…talk soon!
