Paris at Night

if you purchased a Paris at Night kit and pattern…the pattern amounts are right but what you cut is not…cut 3 narrow border strips and 3 wide border strips instead of 4 and 3 binding strips instead of 5. you will have enough fabric. we did not do piping in the narrow border like the pattern says, but feel free to do so. sorry for the mix-up. if you have any questions let me know.

Quilters…the week is almost over already.  feels like it just started.

summer is almost over, but we are still in summer mode here.  mom just finished up Cabana Squares…a Fig Tree pattern using their Folklorique wovens.  they have a tropical  feel to them and worked perfect for this quilt.  check out the picture below.

cabana squares

it will be kitted up–exactly like the sample.  it uses a layer cake, charm pack, and border yardage.  backing and binding come out of the same piece.

mom is working on a few more summery projects then of course we’ll be doing some fall projects and the 2010 block of the month (oh my, already!).

we also have a few spots still open in our Sweet Figs Fig Tree Club.  $10.00 fee will get you 4 patterns kits are seperate.  let me know.

shop hop 2009

Quilt Minnesota 2009 will be coming to a close in 32 minutes.  i want to take a moment now to thanks all the hoppers for traveling this great state to see so many wonderful shops.  i wish all you hoppers the best of luck in the upcoming drawings that will be taking place.  i will be drawing names for our 3 gift bags on Tuesday.  Kim will be working for me tomorrow so mom and i can take part in the wrap up meeting tomorrow.

we hope all you hoppers came away with something wonderful…whether a fun kit or exciting pattern or maybe just inspiration to get you back quilting.  the shoppe can get back to normal now and i can get back to my machine quilting, which is still there…no quilting fairies came and did it for me…bummer.

mom and i have enjoyed the last two weeks…we are already looking forward to Quilt Minnesota 2010.  we hope to see you soon…

Cabana Squares

quilters…i hope the hop is going great.  only 3 days left.

we ordered in some bundles of Folklorique wovens by Fig Tree.  it is full of fun tropical colors.  we are doing the Cabana Squares quilt which uses layer cakes and is a free pattern off of Fresh Figs blog at right.  we’ll be putting it together in the next week or so..waiting on border fabrics which will be wovens also instead of a geometric print.  i was going to take a picture of the bundles but my camera has dead batteries…just one more thing to add to the list.  i’ll try and get a picture up by the end of the weekend.

happy quilting…hope the shop hop is going good for you hoppers out there.

mona lisa buttermilk

this week has been crazy busy…we’ve had lots of people through–it has been lots of fun.

i have an updated picture of buttermilk which uses a honeybun and then a picture of our new bag–uses 1/2 a jelly roll–Mona Lisa.

happy quilting…good luck on the shop hop.

hello quilters,

summer is flying by.  the shop hop started on friday and it has been very busy.  already over 100 people have come through…it is just crazy, but lots of fun.  mom has been sewing in between hoppers and has fallen in love with the Sweet Treats bag from moda bake shop.  she has done up 2 more…i did the first one.  she used Quilt MN and Gyspy Rose and still wants to do up one using blue, green, and yellow sunshine wovens and 1 using Anna Griffin’s Millicent.

Lastly, Buttermilk, our pattern using Legacy and Heritage by Howard Marcus for moda is pictured below.  we are going to get a binding on it before we leave today, but i thought i would give everyone a sneak peak…binding is a dark brown diagonal stripe.  we will have only 3 kits of this.  it uses a Honeybun and yardage for the setting triangles and alternate squares.

also, a picture of a few bolts of pink and chocolate…good enough to eat, don’t you think?
