good morning! happy memorial day weekend! hopefully all is well in your neck of the woods…it has been crazy around these parts.
lots going on…which is why i’ve been absent for the last little while. trying to catch up on bundles, working on a few new projects, Quilt Minnesota has arrived (along with most of our exclusive grouping of coordinates), Christmas fabric has been showing up on our doorstep along with lots of new notions, some patterns, and a few other things that we cannot wait to share with you!
today though i have some new bundles of Christmas…(i realize that it is still may…but these are so gorgeous that you won’t even mind…promise!)
first up is Christmas Traditions…featuring stockings, red trucks, pine trees, sleighs, snowmen, and snowflakes…lovely colors of snow, mint, evergreen, coal, and berry. for more pictures of the fabrics…check out my latest instagram post…you can see some fussy cutting action!
it’s hard to pass up a good Jo Morton so this collection was a must! classic old christmas colors of turkey red, poison green, gold, brown, and cream make this grouping both christmas and civil war…but mostly perfect for mixing in to your civil war stash. i love the top floral. this entire collection is arriving this week! right now we do have bundles ready to ship!
i have a Christmas Hexie project in the works…inspired by @sew_what_becca over on instagram. i’ve been fussy cutting up a storm over here and once i get a sense of size i will be offering starter kits but more on that when i get that far.
grab these bundles over on the website…christmas traditions here and glad tidings here.
now back to Sweet Magnolias…which i wasn’t really sure about…but it is growing on.
i had a wonderful birthday on thursday…we had birthday brownies…then yesterday Mel and Ty and Braxton came out for the evening. the girls (Lola and Bella) ran around outside and Braxton is walking now…how time flies! it was a nice little supper of burgers on the grill to celebrate our birthdays…(Ty/April 29th, Mine/April 30th, and Dad/May 4th). there wasn’t even any farm-work for Dad and Ty since the corn went in on Tuesday and feed was ground on Thursday.
the stay at home order has been extended to the 18th…hopefully by then we will have a handle on everything…
we have been getting in new notions and books to keep from being bored. lots of fun embroidery books, pretty pins, needle books, and fabric bundles.
today though i have our Bohin pins and needles…they arrived yesterday and i couldn’t wait to get them online…cuz they are just lovely!
first up…pretty 40 assortment Bohin needle books…lovely, pretty, and perfect for dropping into your sewing bag.
good evening! hopefully you are getting some projects finished up! (i’ve started a new Christmas fussy-cut hexie project…more on that once i get a little bit further).
today i’m updating you on my Star-A-Day. i’m at 65 stars…15 of which have been stitched into 9-patches.
this was the last time i did a layout to get a feel for the quilt. i’m loving it! all the prints and the different backgrounds…yummo!
if i were truly doing it a star a day…i would now be on March 5th…i’m nearly 2 months behind…but another weekend is on the horizon and maybe i can play catch up!
if you would like to join me you can grab a star-a-day paper/pattern/acrylic pack here.
if you would like scrappy backgrounds for star-a-day (or to mix with your civil war) we have independence low volume here and biscotti low volume here.
if you would like some color…civil war color bundles are available here.
also…do you see those tiny little scissors in the tin…they are seriously the cutest little things in the world. total length of them…2 1/4 inches with a blade of 5/8 inch. perfect for your little sewing kit, EPP tin, project bag, purse, or travel sewing. you can grab a pair of scissors here. i love that they look old already…like you found them in an old button box or sewing tin.
mom and i are busy getting quilts quilted…we finished up Bella Blossoms featuring Tilda’s Old Rose…it is so gorgeous! can’t wait to get the binding on it and get it washed and dried.
good evening! the week is winding down around here and we have brought home some bolts to cut up some new bundles…a Low Volume Summer which i am in LOVE with of course and a curated collection from our Bramble Cottage bolts.
we have been working on some this week as well…
ash & eggshell -a personal fav!-
we did up a new independence low volume…this one is lovely if you are in the market for some shirtings.
then we couldn’t resist a couple brenda riddle bundles…
first up…ginghams…talk about summer inspired….
Finnegan Favorite Flowers…this is a half yard bundle cuz a fat quarter of these luscious florals is just not enough!
we have them available over in the precuts section of the website here.
i’m off to cut some new bundles.
as for the storefront…we are usually at the shop from 10-2 m-f to do shipping drop off and pick up fabric, etc. if you are need of something or want to drop off a quilt…you are more than welcome to call for an appointment (shop number 320.243.4436 or my cell 320.241.8336). we are still taking in quilting with a turnaround time of about a week maybe less.
good evening! hopefully you are doing well and getting lots of those projects finished up and others started!
we’ve been putting together lots of bundles and getting them in the shop.
right now my new favorite is romantic durham…who doesn’t love these gentle florals. these 3 bundles are our last combo blue and pink bundles….6–1/2 yards…total of 3 yards. grab one of these romantic durham bundles here.
we’ve also cut and bundled up more urban farmhouse gatherings…these are bundles of 10 fat quarters.
good evening! thought i’d pop in…see how you are doing. we are powering through…staying busy. Reorganizing, amazon ordering, bingeing shows, stitching, dreaming up new DMC thread tins, packaging orders, and hoping for some warm spring thunderstorms.
we’ve also been busy getting new fun goodies online, whipping up new bundles (tonight i’m doing a low volume mini dot bundle), and new projects that are ready to be quilted but are getting bumped to finish up customer quilts.
today we have some pictures of our newest bundles…Nancy’s Needle 1850-1880 by Betsy Chutchian. lovely civil war era prints that are in her signature colors and perfect for blending into your stash or starting a civil war stash.
we have fat quarter bundles and fat 8th bundles.
we’ve added them to website…you can grab a fat quarter bundle…here. fat 8ths are available here.
also…have about 50 star-a-day stars done…here are a handful of them to get a feel for what it’s going to look like…
i think i’m gonna have to layout all the stars and squares this weekend, but right now i’d better get back to stitching and maybe take some allergy medicine…cuz my nose is running away without me.
we did, however, get in the newest Tilda collection, Bon Voyage. Inspired by ceramic and bits of pottery from distant shores…it includes the prettiest tile prints along with flowers and amazing perfect-for-fussy-cutting prints.
we have the entire collection along with precuts…ready to ship!
mom is already plotting a sweet brick style quilt for this collection…
take a little trip without leaving home…add in a little bit of Bon Voyage.
we hope you are having a wonderful weekend! mom and i are busy tidying and painting and raking and cozying up with our newest (completed) project.
mom’s been eyeing up this quilt she saw in the Romantic Prairie Style book for quite awhile and trying to find just the right fabric to bring it to life. After looking over the Happy Campers fabric again…she decided that was the fabric…she cut her fabric and set to work that evening.
Then, yesterday, we put it on and quilted and bound it before we left the shop for the weekend. it came straight home and went through a wash and dry. And…honestly…i can’t get enough. i love the large chain-link quilting, the coziness, the squishiness…gabby likes it too!
(It has been cloudy…so these pictures are not the best i’ve ever taken but they do show how cozy this quilt is!)
and of course gabby thought it was fantastic!
we have kits for the Stay Home Quilt…here …we have some new projects that will hopefully be available soon…Annie’s Cushion kits (pattern designed by Treehouse Textiles) is next on the list along with Memento kits and pattern featuring Memoirs and Passport collections by 3 sisters.
all for today…now a little evening relaxing along with star-a-day.
happy weekend! please stay home…stay safe…we’ll keep the projects, kits, bundles, inspiration, and gabby pictures coming and keep shipping out your orders…cuz honestly…if you are going to stay home you deserve a little happy mail…every. single. day.
