We designed patterns for 3 years or so before jumping into the Quilt Shoppe business head-first.

It has been a crazy ride so far!

We opened on June 4th, 2004.  (not even a month after graduating from St. Cloud State)

Our first location 102 Washburne Ave is just around the block from our current location.

some pictures from the old shoppe…

the old place (as we refer to it) was a bit on the small side…it was long and narrow with a really low ceiling.

we did have a booth at the Spring 2006 International Quilt Market in Minneapolis and our booth won Best New Exhibitor.

then in the spring of 2008 we moved around the block to a space with a high ceiling and lots of room and more squareish than long and narrow.

we had a quilt pattern, “Cherry Limeade” published in Quilts & More/Summer 2008 issue.

then we had “All Things Spring” chosen as the cover quilt for the month of April in the Better Homes and Gardens 2009 calender.

Then in the summer of 2009 we were chosen to be included in the Spring 2010 issue of Quilt Sampler naming us a Top Ten Shop for 2010.  the issue went on sale in May of 2010!

We pariticipate in Quilt Minnesota every summer and our Quilt Minnesota display for 2013 won Windham’s display contest.

To date we have self-published over 150 single patterns and 10+ books including several block of the month projects, compilations of pillows, and Quilt Minnesota projects.

We offer machine quilting, Thursday Afternoon Sit and Sew, unique kits and patterns.

  3. Received Civil war fabric from daughter in Bogart, Georgia, and needless to say, I love it. Also, she was not sure I would received the package by Christmas, but it arrived on Christmas Eve Plan to put this fabric to use with other civil war fabric and make the quilt Notes To Home, a civil war pattern. Thanks so much.
